Year 2006, the Philippine-based world music band known as Makiling made an attempt to crossover to mainstream poprock. The music and outfits were updated, new demo songs written and some old songs rearranged to sound more pop. It was passed around to major record labels in a bid for mainstream release.
Suffice to say, it did not go well and the attempt was eventually abandoned. The new songs remained in the band's vault for years, with no plans to release it in public. However, with the recent tragic passing of the band's original guitarist David Sicam, things have changed.
Makiling's vocal duties were passed around between members and during this period, it was David's tenure to do vocals. The songs, previously just intended to be demos, now became historical documents. David recorded the vocals for most of the songs.
The band released this EP album to share a historical turning point in the band's 16 year existence.
